A few kilometres from the Hotel Playa de Aguilar is one of the most touristy councils in the Principality of Asturias, Cudillero, which has a wide variety of resources, including beaches such as El Silencio or Concha de Artedo, places full of charm such as Cape Vidio, majestic palaces such as the Quinta de los Selgas and, of course, the fishing village.
The orography of Cudillero determines the importance of its port and its orientation towards fishing. In the past it served as a refuge against corsairs or pirates given the natural shelter that the town possesses, today it leaves us with the beautiful sight of the fishermen’s houses on the hillsides as well as striking peculiarities such as the ethnography, in which the festival of L´Amuravela and the pixueto (a dialect of Asturian with words of Nordic origin that is spoken exclusively in Cudillero) stand out.
The old quarter will surprise the visitor with its beauty and history in an incredible natural setting. The best way to get to know the place is to take guided tour with Hugo Bande, who will show you around the most emblematic corners of the village. The Tourist Office can help you with any queries you may have and you can take a virtual tour of the place on their website.
